Antarctic Sea Ice Variability and Trends: Links with the Atmospheric Circulation

Abstract

The seminar examines the juxtaposition of modest long-term Antarctic sea-ice trends and recent record lows, focusing on how large-scale circulation anomalies and oceanic heat content govern variability. Diagnostics from reanalyses and CMIP6 ensembles are presented.
